Director of Golf Operations and P.G.A. Member, Scott Rinear, has developed a long standing relationship with R.H. West Management beginning in 1991 as the Assistant Professional at Royal Oak Country Club in Greenwood, IN. This position provided a wealth of knowledge of the private side of the golf business including the importance of outstanding customer service, the creation of exciting tournament programs and the development of P.G.A. golf instruction, all of which have become the foundation of Rinear’s management philosophy.

In January of 1993, Scott was awarded the Head Golf Professional position at Winding River Golf Course. Under Mayor Stephen Goldsmith’s unique privatization agreement, this once municipally run facility received numerous renovations by R.H. West Management. As the new Head Golf Professional at Winding River, Scott was instrumental in the creation of new course programs that were previously non-existent including the development of a junior golf program, Men’s Golf Association and a women’s’ and senior golf programs. Under Scott’s guidance, a pro shop was opened and fully stocked with pro-line merchandise. At this time,outing and corporate league play were marketed and promoted by Rinear and continue to enjoy success today. Scott later played an integral role in the design and completion of nine additional holes as well as the 11,200 sq. ft. clubhouse.

In February of 1998, Scott took over as the Head Professional at Oak Tree Golf Course in nearby Plainfield, IN. Under Scott’s supervision the pro shop was remodeled and several course improvements were made. In charge of marketing and promotion of the newly acquired course, Scott helped transform this once private course into a successful daily fee facility with numerous corporate outings and leagues and an all new tournament program. Specializing in golf instruction, Scott provided free clinics to the local High School golf team and began a full lesson program for all golfers.

Always active in the promotion of the game of golf, Scott has written numerous articles on a monthly basis to several area newspapers and provided free instruction to six local area High School teams as well as collegiate golfers from the University of Indianapolis. Scott also hosts a call-in golf instruction radio show on 88.7 WICR on a monthly basis, which has enjoyed success with a broad listener base.

In February 1999, Scott was promoted to Director of Golf Operations for R.H. West Management Corporation. Now responsible for three facilities golf operations, Scott provides leadership and expertise to over fifty R.H West Management personnel. Working closely with President Ron West, Scott has accomplished goals set forth by management including the successful promotion and marketing of all facilities, new inventory management practices and has increased communications with the entire golf staff. Scott’s attention to detail and experience within both the golf business and the company have helped R.H. West management courses to set the standard in the local golf market and will help lead the company into golf’s future.
